Statement

Federica, in her production, currently focused on the deconstruction of the landscape and in the abstract as a study of spaces and daily scenes experienced, she introduces influences from schools of countercultural subjectivity, irrational philosophies, and the theory of non-places as well as a reflection on psychogeography.

During these years she develops a personal and plastic process in which she investigates different artistic disciplines, mostly focused on painting and urban art.

In her study of landscape, she works on the conditioning of beings in the city and natural environments, where human life develops deeply.

She uses traveling and arbitrariness as a form of creation, analyzing cultures, colors and traditions.

Moving away from landscape mimesis leads her to a space defined only by chromatic blotches in which the identity of the place is provided to the viewer in a subjective and emotional way.

A creative process of experimentation where the monopoly of rationalism as the only method of generating knowledge is questioned.

The pieces speak of the process, the gesture, the body movement and the very experience of artistic creation. Production is closely linked to intimacy, her work embodies her days.

Each piece is related to the experience and sensations of each moment or place where she finds herself. Her quotidian work is representing the emotions that she is feeling, almost like trying to capture them so as not to forget them. Or to make them last longer in time. Or simply because they’re so intense that they transcend her. Seeing how painting in itself is a language and how this language of chaos can be influenced by how we are every day.

It is an attempt to destroy for a moment the stability of perception and to inflict on consciousness a kind of vertigo.

In a constant dialogue with the ineffable, an endless search.
